SHINGWEDZI
Shingwedzi was one of the original Magnificent Seven.
(c. 1934 - 1981)
The name Shingwedzi is derived from the Tsonga word "ngwetse", which means "the sound of metal objects rubbing against each other"
He was was known to move
around Shingwedzi, between the Tshange Hills and the border with Mozambique.
Shingwedzi was seen regularly since he was moving often around Shingwedzi restcamp.
He died of natural causes in January 1981, at an estimated age of 56 years. He was found dead under a sycamore fig tree close to Shingwedzi Rest Camp.
