The tusks as well as most of the ear markings of Mahlahini are almost identical with another tusker, Masasana.
 
The right ear shows the biggest difference. Mahlahini has a wide square notch at the lower part of the ear lobe.

Both tuskers have some thickening on the trunk and the difference can only be seen in detail. A small differerence in shape near the centre and at the left side close to the ivory lip.
